Day of zazen for Master Deshimaru: MAY 3rd
Dear and dear friends of the Great Sangha AZI,
As you now know, the extension of the confinement will not allow us to meet at La Gendronnière temple for the "Great Sangha" sesshin from April 30 to May 3 next.
The spiritual council of the AZI therefore proposes to dedicate a common day of zazen for the 38th anniversary of Master Deshimaru's death on May 3, 2020, the date initially planned for the commemoration ceremony for Sensei.
Whether in the temples and monasteries of the AZI or simply in your own home.
LET'S PRACTICE TOGETHER BY FOLLOWING THE SCHEDULE BELOW
06h30 - 08h00 : zazen/kin hin/zazen
08h00 - 08h30: morning ceremony : Hannya shingyo, lineage of the patriarchs up to Master Keizan, eko and Ji ho san shi
10h30 - 12h00 : zazen/kin hin/zazen
12h00: ceremony in memory of Master Deshimaru: Daihi shin darani, incense offering, special eko for Sensei, Ji ho san shi - the special eko will be put online on the AZI website.
15h30 - 17h00 : zazen/kin hin/zazen: end of day dedication, fueko, Ji ho san shi.

The cancellation of all the activities planned at the Gendronnière in March, April and May - at a minimum - strongly calls into question all the indispensable projects planned for 2020/21 in our mother temple.
If the entire Great Sangha of the AZI is mobilized by making a donation, each and everyone according to his or her means, the financial impact could be compensated and the necessary work could be done.
In this exceptional period where we see on a daily basis generosity and solidarity being established at all levels of our societies, the Great Sangha of the AZI must mobilize for the future of the temple founded by Master Deshimaru in 1979. The current situation reminds us, if need be, of the importance of places such as La Gendronnière for the years to come.
